What We Do
The mission of Mālama Mānoa is to promote community; celebrate our cultural diversity and heritage; and preserve, protect, and enhance the special qualities of historic Mānoa Valley.
Who We Are
Mālama Mānoa was founded in January 1992 as the Mānoa Historic Preservation Committee at a Mānoa Neighborhood Board meeting. In September, the name “Mālama o Mānoa” was adopted (but changed recently to Mālama Mānoa). The charter of incorporation as a non-profit corporation in the State of Hawaii was granted in December 1992. In March 1993 the Internal Revenue Service approved Mālama Mānoa’s application as a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization, which also allows tax-deductible contributions.
