Boys & Girls Clubs of Hawaii

What We Do
Mission
The mission of Boys & Girls Club of Hawaii is to enable all young people, especially those who need us most, to reach their full potential as productive, caring, responsible citizens.
The after-school hours are a critical time for youth – a time when many children in our communities are left to fend for themselves without positive adult supervision. BGCH provides a safe place filled with hope and opportunity, ongoing relationships with caring adult mentors, and enriching programs.
Vision
Our vision is to provide a world class Club-Experience that assures success is within reach of every young person who walks through our doors, with all members on track to graduate from high school with a plan for the future and demonstrating good character and citizenship while living a healthy lifestyle.
Service Statement
Welcome to Boys & Girls Club of Hawaii: We Welcome You as You Are!
Boys & Girls Club of Hawaii will achieve its greatest impact through a diverse group of people, working together in an inclusive, safe, and fair culture, to achieve our mission. When we draw on the experience of our members, employees, volunteers, alumni, and the community BGCH serves, we are better able to understand, meet, and anticipate the needs of our youth. Together we enable youth to reach their highest potential while fostering an environment that promotes opportunities, leadership, innovation and belonging, while ensuring our work is relevant in a constantly changing world.
Who We Are
Our Why
The after-school hours are a critical time for youth. It’s a time when many kids are left without adult guidance. Some miss out on proper meals, while others lack assistance with homework or personal challenges. This situation can lead to lower graduation rates, increased violence, drug use, bullying, and, tragically, suicide.
Consider this eye-opening statistic: by 6th grade, children from middle-class families have spent approximately 6,000 more hours learning than those born into poverty. This educational gap highlights a broader inequality we must address.
Together, we can make a life changing impact. Let’s ensure that all children, regardless of their circumstances, have the support and opportunities they need during these crucial after-school hours.
