MONTHLY OPPORTUNITY
Kapapapuhi Community Workday
- When: Second Saturday from 8:00am-12pm
- Where: Kapapapuhi Point Park, Ewa Beach, 96706
- Tasks: Removing debris, fishing line/nets, litter, and invasive plant species (red mangrove, pickle weed, lilikoi vines, etc.) from three traditional Hawaiian aquaculture technologies (fishponds) and the shoreline of Kaihuopalaʻai, West Loch. Plant native wetland species grown by members of our amazing community!
- Bring: Water Bottle, Closed toed shoes, Sun protection, Masks (welcomed but not required)
All first time volunteers must complete and submit a Liability Waiver and Media Release form prior to participating in any activity hosted by HOH. Forms can be accessed through our website at www.hoh808.org
Additional Information:
- Our hui provides all tools, water station(s), gloves/safety equipment, first aide station(s), and PIZZA from our wonderful sponsor at Dominos Pizza Hawaii, Mike Rompel.
- Come when you can, leave when you need! Although we encourage all parties to stay through the duration of the day, we understand that there is much to do and not enough time to do it all. We are grateful for the time and energy you have chosen to give to Kapapapuhi.

About the organizer
Hui o Hoʻohonua is a community networking hub with three programs that serve the ʻEwa, Oʻahu communities of Honouliuli, Waipahu, and Mānana. Our hui works to combat social-environmental injustices that have impacted our ability to care for ourselves through land stewardship, public ʻāina based educational programming, and weaving a lei or partnerships that benefit Hawaiʻis agricultural properties and the people who have connection to these spaces.
We welcome volunteers from schools, organizations and businesses, community groups, individual/family units, and anyone else with a desire to give back to the place that gives us so much.
