Plant Drive

Understory Alliance
Please bring us your plant babies!
Understory is growing our first forest garden in `Olohena Ahupua’a in partnership with Kaua’i Animal Education Farm, a fellow nonprofit that provides our community with positive animal interactions that form deep-rooted bonds and relationships with keiki, hoaloha, and ohana.
Our pilot project creates and cares for small, ecologically sustainable, and immersive multifunctioning forest systems, which we call Māla Lā`au, UA’s take on a forest garden.
Our forest garden will predominantly be made up of native plant species, appropriate noninvasive food trees, and culturally significant plants. This pocket-sized forest garden is easily accessible enough to be woven into the fabric of our everyday lives while growing in balance with and including people.
Please help our community forest garden grow by adding your plants to this project!
Understory Alliance is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization committed to increasing ecosystem, community, and individual resilience and health by strengthening the interconnection of all humans with the natural world.
