Museum Front Desk and Gift Shop

Alexander and Baldwin Sugar Museum

The Sugar Museum is a 1902 plantation manager’s home on a beautiful little patch of green in Puunene, across the street from the historic sugar mill and post office. This combined shift (one hour at each station) is ideal for students doing community service hours for graduation, or anyone wanting to interact with the public in a relaxed, fun, air conditioned setting. We train, no experience necessary!

Tasks involved: Greeting customers and directing them into the gallery; using Square payment system; stocking shelves; pricing merchandise, and other “busy work” during down time, such as folding brochures, and keeping the lobby tidy. Persons with a lot of Aloha and a flexible “can do” attitude are desirable for this position!

Current schedule is Monday-Thursday, 10-12 or 12-2. We are looking for a weekly commitment, but can accommodate persons visiting Maui, or a short term assignment. Please contact us for more information, or to come by the museum to check it out.
