Meals on Wheels – Delivery Driver
Lanakila Meals on Wheels
Our drivers bring meals and social interaction to Oahu seniors and individuals with disabilities so they can remain nourished in the safety of home. Each route usually contains 8-10 stops and takes less than two hours. Volunteer drivers must have access to a reliable vehicle, valid driver’s license, and smart phone. Deliveries typically occur anytime during these times: Tuesday – Saturday: 8 a.m. to 12 p.m.**Includes up to 2 hours of actual delivery time. The rest of the time is “commuting” to and from the meals pickup site.

Eligibility:
- Must be 16 years or older
- Be negative for tuberculosis
- Pass a criminal background check
- Clean driving record
- Provide 2 non-family adult references
- COVID-19 Protocols:
- To volunteer with Lanakila Meals on Wheels, you must: Be fully vaccinated and provide proof of vaccination.
- Wear a mask and a face shield while packing – no exceptions.
- Face shields will be provided, but you are welcome to bring your own.
Process:
- Submit an online volunteer application here. We will contact you.
- Allow for your application to be processed and for appropriate checks to be completed (usually within 7-10 business days).
- Attend an orientation session.

Our caring volunteers deliver nutritious meals and true friendship that recipients say improves their health, makes them feel safe and secure, and allows them to remain in a place they love.

We are a Hawaii-based non-profit 501(c)(3) organization offering assistance programs and operating social enterprises to build independence and improve the quality of life for individuals with cognitive, physical, social or age-related challenges. Since 1939, our vision has been to embody self-sufficiency and inspire inclusive communities where people of all ages and abilities are empowered to live independently, find meaningful employment and thrive in spirit. We collectively serve and benefit more than 2,000 people each year including individuals with disabilities and seniors in our community.
