Māla Hoʻoulu ʻike
ʻO Makuʻu ke Kahua Community Center
Volunteer services will be completed at our Māla Hoʻoulu ʻike site. The Māla Hoʻoulu ʻIke programʻs current mission is to indulge and inspire the community of Hawaiian Homesteaders and others with agricultural opportunities; in order to grow an educational mindset of a self-sustainable life for their ʻohana and the community. Each volunteer will be influenced by the Hawaiian moon calendar, and will be a combination of informative & hands-on learning that can create a successful and self sustainable community. The vision of this program is to create and sustain a community garden that would promote self-sustainability, create confident farmers, and provide a source that links us back to our Hawaiian culture.
With the variety of proposed programs and projects, ʻO Makuʻu Ke Kahua Community Center (ʻOMKKCC) has an ongoing commitment to remain a community-grounded foundation that promotes & perpetuates Native Hawaiian values and traditions, while also providing educational and employment opportunities.
