Earth Day Event at Loko Ea with Hānai Kaiāulu
Malama Loko Ea Foundation
Not sure what to do with all the cardboard you get and don’t want to throw it away? Come and join us at Loko Ea Fishpond to learn more about how you can upcycle cardboard and turn it into usable material! We are privileged to once again be partnering with Hānai Kaiāulu coming in from the moku of Waianae. Together we will learn how to prepare the cardboard and make biodegradable planting pots from the shredded material. This family friendly event is good for all ages and will be a fun, hands-on experience to learn about how we can turn cardboard waste into a sustainable tool.
Bring your cardboard! – please remove any gloss or staples prior to coming. If you are not sure if it’s usable, you may still bring it in to learn how to sort through your cardboard.
Things we will provide:
- Cardboard Shredder, some cardboard
- Ice water to refill your reusable bottles
- An ample amount of gratitude for your kokua with our workday at the pond!
