Pacific Primate Sanctuary is looking for Volunteers!
ANIMAL CAREGIVER VOLUNTEERS
Activities include- preparing food and enrichment for the monkeys, cleaning, enclosure maintenance, keeping records, responsibly overseeing the health and well being of the animals.
Position requires: regular (once per week) attendance, negative TB test, completion of application, reliable transportation, permanent residency on Maui, a one-year commitment, experience caring for animals preferable
SUPPORT STAFF VOLUNTEERS
Activities include preparing food and enrichment, cleaning and maintenance, keeping records, office duties, pruning, groundskeeping, sewing, and general support. This position is available for those that are unable to make a one-year commitment, please let us know if you have any special skills that you wish to contribute!
GROUNDSKEEPER and/or HANDYPERSON
We need help clearing and maintaining the land, pruning and fertilizing the trees, tending an organic vegetable garden, caring for the monkeys’ jungle enclosures, and maintaining the facility. Needed-experience in agriculture and horticulture, operating and maintaining equipment, making repairs and improvements at the facility.

About the organizer
Pacific Primate Sanctuary provides refuge, rehabilitation and permanent care, creating naturalistic habitats where displaced primates can recover and form social groups. We are an entirely volunteer operated organization. The monkeys are nurtured with dedicated care and provided an abundance of organically grown food and forage in an ideal subtropical climate. As part of our zoological horticulture project, we propagate plants indigenous to subtropical rain forests, many related to the plants found in the monkeys’ native habitats. The plants are grown on-site and provide the monkeys with forage appropriate to their natural diets.
