Habitat Restoration and Stewardship of wetland and endemic forest species

Healthy Climate Communities works in collaboration with Hawaii State Department of Land and Natural Resources (DLNR) , local schools and other community groups to restore the watershed for Hāmākua wildlife sanctuary and, adjacent Pu’u o Ehu Hillside. Since 2015 we planted thousands of native and endemic plants, including many that are threatened or endangered Caring for native plants is a tough job made possible by be the many who volunteer with their stewardship. Come volunteer every Monday from 4pm-6pm. Its a great way to start the week, make friends and enjoy the outdoors! Options to schedule group volunteer days are also available. Please bring water, closed toed shoes, comfortable clothes and water. We will provide the tools. one time waiver is needed
