Disrupt Aging Classroom Tech Producer

Description
Disrupt Aging (DA) Classroom is a 2.5-hour, interactive curriculum that challenges students to examine aging perceptions and think about how the growing aging population is relevant to their personal lives and future careers. The curriculum is presented by certified AARP volunteer Facilitators, who are trained extensively on the content and effective delivery. Currently, DA Classroom is being offered virtually. The DA Classroom Tech Producer is paired with a Facilitator to provide technical guidance so each curriculum presentation to students is successful, seamless and smooth.
Key Responsibilities
Support virtual delivery of DA Classroom using video conference platforms and learning applications.Be comfortable with a range of video conference platforms such as Zoom, Microsoft Teams and Skype.Commit to learning the curriculum so its virtual delivery is consistent and polished every time.Learn about ongoing updates to DA Classroom and be flexible about incorporating technical changes into the curriculum.Sign up for and support presentations based on availability.Provide feedback and share any technical issues or concerns to promote ongoing development of the program.
Qualifications
A reliable computer with video conferencing capability and access to a strong internet connection.Familiarity with video conference and web-based learning.Experience using PowerPoint in “Presenter View” and the ability to advance slides while in “Presenter View.”Knowledge or willingness to learn necessary skills for video conference platforms and learning applications such as Padlet.A desire to see students’ attitudes toward aging change.
Training
The training to become a Disrupt Aging Classroom Tech Producer consists of 2.5 hours training. A volunteer will learn how to support the Disrupt Aging Classroom facilitators. A Tech Producer must be able to use the program Padlet, insert links in Chat, and run a PowerPoint for a facilitator.

Time Commitment
Tech Producers will go through a 2.5 hour training which will certify them for the role of being a tech producer. Once certified, a Tech Producer agrees to run tech for 3-4 classes a year for two years.
