VA Pacific Islands Healthcare System
VA Pacific Islands Healthcare System depends on the goodwill of donors and volunteers who want to give something back to America’s heroes. Volunteers provide much-needed help throughout the health care system and make patients’ experiences more enjoyable. Many different volunteer opportunities are available, and each volunteer’s talents are closely matched with one of our assignments. Volunteers can choose to serve at the Spark Matsunaga VA Medical Center or Community Living Center.
DAV Volunteer Driver Program – Pickup VA vehicle at Spark M. Matsunaga Medical Center, drive to pick up Veteran from their home and take them to their appointment, return them to their home and return VA vehicle to Spark M. Matsunaga Medical Center. Support is from Mon-Sat 0700-1630 hrs – whatever days you are available. Must be 21 yrs of age. If you are interested in this program, CDCE will need to forward you different instructions and forms.
Compassionate Contact Corps(CCC)–Volunteeris matched with a Referred Veteran for regular communication.Availability is any time at least once a week for at least 15 minutes (VirtualVolunteering).
MyHealtheVet Champion – Assist Veterans within Spark M. Matsunaga Medical Center in registering with MyHealtheVet website, www.myhealth.va.gov. or having difficulty utilizing their smartphone in navigating the MyHealtheVet website. A specific computer and desk is in place on the 2nd floor behind the staircase.
Community Living Center(CLC) (Is a VA 24 Hour Care Facility) – Assist Recreation Therapist with activities of the day. FacilityVolunteerHours: Sun-Sat 0900–1400 hrs or according to the service’s needs.Volunteerwill need to be COVID Tested prior to their designatedvolunteering

I want to welcome you to the Center for Development & Civic Engagment website. We have such a noble charge – caring for every one of our nation’s heroes. VA could not provide its extremely high-quality level of service without our volunteers, donors and partners.VA has many programs that you can volunteer your time with such as becoming a Volunteer Transportation Network Driver, greeting Veterans at the main entrance as a Red Coat Ambassador, or becoming part of the Compassionate Contact Corps by contacting socially isolated Veterans through phone calls. Your time commitment is up to you. If you are interested in becoming a volunteer at one of VA’s medical centers or national cemeteries, you can easily connect to the local office by clicking on the volunteer and donation tab. I would be excited for you to become part of our volunteer family.
